Kids Positive/Social Skill Program


A 10-week program for children ages 6-9 and 10-13 designed to improve social skills and build self-esteem.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Lambton County through the Kid's Positive Program strives to enable children with learning disabilities to reach their full social and emotional potential.
All children with a Learning Disability will be eligible for the program. However, the class size is set at a maximum of 10 children per session to allow for optimal learning.

4. Conversation Skills
5. Teasing/Bullying
6. Decision Making Skills
7. Reaction To Stress Situations
8. Problem Solving
9. Mediating other people’s conflict
10. Negotiating with others
11. Outing
12. Wrap up

NOTE: Programs are based on the specific needs of the children attending the class. Please indicate to the instructor if you would like to have your child learn about specific social skills.

Kids Positive Social Skills Program (10 week sessions). Children 6-13 years meet once a week. Topics covered in ten week sessions include assertiveness, friendship making and manners, conversation skills, teasing/bullying, decision making skills, reaction to stress situations, problem solving and negotiating with others. Next ten week session begins Wednesday, September 22, 2004 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Cost $48 for members, $110 for non-members (membership fee $50 per year).
